Bio

Katie Adams graduated from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, Ark.) in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science and is a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach. She is a two-time 1600 meter high school state champion for the state of Illinois, three-time top-10 finisher in cross country and two-time top-three finisher in the 3200-meter race at the State Championship meet.

She ran distance in cross country and track during the entirety of her undergraduate studies. Originally competing for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes as a varsity athlete, Adams was Iowa’s top finisher at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships in 2014, placing 50th overall. In her time as a Hawkeye, Adams led the team in numerous races in the 3k, 5k, and 6k. She earned the All-Academic Big Ten Conference Award from 2013 – 2015, and received the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award in the 2014-2015 seasons.

Transferring to the University of Arkansas (2015-2017), Adams competed for the Razorbacks and was a member of the then three-time SEC Triple Crown Cross Country and Track teams. In addition, Adams made the SEC Academic Honor Roll from 2015-2017.

Adams is in her first season as an assistant distance coach for the Falcons. She gained some previous coaching experience while at Providence Classical Christian Academy in 2018. At Providence, Adams assisted the head coach with distance events and served as the sprints, hurdles and relays coach.

In addition, Adams helped lead both the Providence boys and girls junior high teams and varsity girls team to a first-place finish at the HCAA State Track & Field Meet and the varsity boys to a runner-up finish. Adams coached five individual state champions under her training program during her time there.
