Men’s Track & Field claims an individual title on day one of NACC Championships

LISLE, Ill. – The CUW men's track & field team stands in third place after the first day of the NACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with 36 points. The Blue and White won one individual title on Friday. The Falcons also posted a strong qualifying session for Saturday finals. MSOE stands in first place with 55 points.

Senior Grant Johnson (Oconomowoc, Wis.) claimed the NACC crown in the pole vault with a school record and winning mark of 4.30 meters. 

Sophomore Brandon Hargis (Henderson, Nev.) won the silver medal in the discus throw with a throw of 40.60 meters. The fourth-best mark in program history.

The Falcons had two individuals score points in the javelin. Grant Johnson finished in fourth place with a throw of 42.77 meters. In fifth place was Brandon Hargis at 42.10 meters.

In the triple jump, junior Brandon Wooden (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished in fifth place at 13.40 meters and Austin Lopez took eighth place at 12.28 meters.

Junior Ryan Teigen (Fargo, N.D.) clocked in a time of 34:44.36 in the 10000-meter run for a fifth-place finish.

The Falcons will finish NACC action on Saturday.
