Dear Lacrosse Written by Ryan Voskuil

Lacrosse has been my life since I was in sixth grade and to see my final year end out of no where has been extremely difficult. I’ve enjoyed so much about the sport over my career and made friendships that will last a lifetime. The past couple weeks have been difficult, as I face the fact that my career is over, but I am extremely thankful for the career I’ve had.

I first want to thank my family for all that they have sacrificed so that I could play this game. I thank my dad for financially supporting me to play on travel teams and thank my mom for traveling to countless tournaments to support me. I thank my brothers for watching all of my college games online and always cheering me on. I would not have come to CUW if it wasn’t for my family encouraging me to visit. I am extremely blessed to have such a loving and supportive family. I want to thank my extended family as well for traveling to all my home games.

I want to also thank all of my coaches and teammates along the way. I want to thank my high school coaches and teammates for setting the example of how to be a successful lacrosse player. I want to specifically thank Coach Fahey for all that he has done for the CUW lacrosse program. He has sacrificed a lot for this team and put in countless hours in order for us to be successful. He has forever set the standard and developed CUW into a winning program. I want to thank all of my teammates past and present for always pushing themselves to be the best. Thank you to the classes before me for being tough on me and pushing me to be the best that I can be. I also want to thank all of the graduate assistants for putting in so much work for us.

Lastly, I want to thank the other seniors of 2020. Thank you for coming to CUW and staying with me these past four years. I can say I’ve built lifelong friendships with each and every one of you. As my senior year comes to an end I will always look back on the memories I’ve made and will be a Falcon for life.

Sincerely,

Ryan Voskuil
