Falcons control MLC game at Marian

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin didn't ease up, scoring the game's first eight goals before eventually winning 10-1 at Marian during a MLC game at Smith Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin scored three goals in the first, third and fourth quarters to overwhelm Marian during a rare night game. They controlled the faceoff circle, winning 11-of-14 attempts, and outshot the Sabres 46-25 and held a 40-22 lead in ground balls.
- While the score was in favor of the Falcons, they didn't play the cleanest lacrosse with nine penalties resulting in eight minutes and 30 seconds. On the other side of the field, the Sabres were whistled for five infractions for five total minutes. Neither team was able to capitalize, as each score just one man-up goal.
- Concordia Wisconsin's defense had a noteworthy stretch of play in the third quarter when playing 6-on-3 because of three penalties, they were able to expire the penalties and not allow a goal.
- Junior Aidan Connolly (Grayslake, Ill.) led all scorers with four goals, while junior Stephen Gregory (Louisville, Ky.) had two goals. Four Falcons ended with a marker.
- Defensively, junior Garrett Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) had 10 saves and a career-high-tying eight ground balls during a complete game winning effort.
- Junior Ben Gramarossa (Smithtown, N.Y.) won 7-of-10 faceoffs.

- The Falcons have scored double-figure goals in all eight of their wins this season.

THE OPPOSITION
- Nick Klotz scored the Sabres lone goal, while Gavin Taquino made 11 saves in goal
