Beloit scores last four goals to sneak past Men's Lacrosse

BELOIT, Wis. – It was a game of runs and Beloit scored four-straight goals in the fourth quarter to overcome a 6-3 deficit on Saturday afternoon and defeat Concordia Wisconsin, 7-6, in MLC play at Strong Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After an opening goal by the Falcons, the host Buccaneers rattled off three goals in a row to own a 3-1 advantage with 13:19 to play before halftime. In response, Concordia Wisconsin scored five-consecutive goals to take control with a 6-3 lead with 11 minutes left in the league game.
- Beloit settled down and answered with four-straight goals, with the game-winner coming by Mark Gannon with 1:48 to play in the game. The Falcons had a shot at tying the game down the stretch, but they turned the ball over and had a shot attempt go wide.
- Beloit ended with a 46-34 shots advantage and a 30-20 lead in ground balls, but Concordia Wisconsin won 11-of-17 faceoffs.
- Sophomore Aidan Connolly (Grayslake, Ill.) had a career-high four goals, while senior Kellen Asmundson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) had a goal. Sophomore Stephen Gregory (Louisville, Ky.) recorded a goal and assist.
- Freshman Ethan Danz (Appleton, Wis.) picked up five ground balls, while junior Paul Fisher (Champlin, Minn.) caused a career-high eight turnovers. Sophomore Jack Melby (Eagan, Minn.) won 8-of-12 faceoffs.
- Sophomore Garrett Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) made 18 saves in a complete game effort.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons finished man-up opportunities 0-of-8, while the Buccaneers were 2-of-6.
- Fisher's eight caused turnovers ties a program record, while Wohlford's 18 saves are tied for the third-most in a game in program.

THE OPPOSITION
- Matt Kelly and Mark Gannon each had two goals apiece for Beloit, while Kelly also assisted on two markers. Michael Boyland assisted on a pair of scores.
- Jake Wallace picked up six ground balls and caused a trio of turnovers.
- John Murphy had 12 saves in a winning effort.
