MSOE tops Men’s Hockey on Saturday

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's hockey team fell in a key NCHA matchup on Saturday to MSOE. The Raiders won 5-3 to take a three-point lead in the NCHA South standings.

The men's hockey program raised money from breast cancer awareness of Saturday.

The Raiders took an early lead with a pair of first-period goals.

MSOE struck again early in the second period to push the lead to three goals.

Sophomore Nick Guiney (Victoria, B.C.) put the Falcons on the scoreboard on the power play. Sophomore Nick Guerra (Victoria, B.C.) and senior Taylor Gauld (Whitby, Ont.) had the CUW assists.

Senior Adam Fauchoux (Prince Albert, Sask.) added a goal 40 seconds later.

Nick Guiney scored on the power play in the final minute of the second period, with Nick Guerra and Taylor Gauld had the assists.

MSOE won the game with two third-period goals.

Freshman Bo Didur (West Vancouver, B.C.) had 24 saves in the loss.

MSOE outshot the Falcons on Saturday, 29-26.

CUW hosts Adrian on Friday night.
