HANDLING THE PRESSURE: The Falcons showed on Wednesday night they can handle the pressure of a close game down the stretch, earning a three-point victory over the Spartans. Last season they won five games decided by single digits and 35 over the last five seasons.
POUNDING THE PAINT: Concordia Wisconsin has used its size to its advantage this season, pounding the ball into the paint early and often. During Wednesday's victory over Aurora, they scored 48 points in the paint. They also scored a season-high 50 points in the paint in a win at Dominican. This season they have tallied 202 points in the paint, which accounts for 53 percent of the total scoring output.
SERIES HISTORY: Concordia Wisconsin holds a 26-15 series lead and has won the last game eight games in a row by an average of 17 points. The Falcons took the last game 81-78 on January 3 at home, which included 46 points in the paint and a combined 25 points from Jordan Johnson and Andrew Keller.
SCOUTING EDGEWOOD: The Eagles have struggled this season, with just one victory -- 86-70 over Concordia Chicago on December 1 at home. Edgewood excels at the free throw line, making 16 per game which ranks third in the NACC, however, they struggle at forcing turnovers with just 3.8 steals per game (12th in the NACC). Ben Seefeld is having a great start to the season, averaging 22.0 points through five games. He has three 20-plus point games and a 33-point outing, which included seven 3-pointers, in the Eagles lone victory this year.
