Field Hockey lands program-record five All-SAA selections

MEQUON, Wis. – The Southern Athletic Association released the 2019 SAA Field Hockey All-Conference Awards on Tuesday afternoon. Concordia Wisconsin landed a program record five All-SAA selections. For the third-straight year, CUW secured the SAA Newcomer of the Year in Lorri Pitock.

"I am proud of these players and am thankful for their conference recognition," said head coach Samantha Schoessow. "They have dedicated themselves to the team and contributed largely to our team's success this season."

Megan McPike

A sophomore forward from Mequon, Wisconsin, Megan McPike is claiming an All-SAA First Team honor for the second-straight season. McPike led CUW with 26 points on 11 goals and four assists.

Lorri Pitock

A freshman midfielder from Naperville, Illinois, Lorri Pitock is the third-straight Falcon to claim the SAA Newcomer of the Year title. Megan McPike won the honor in 2018 and Callie Neumann did so in 2017. Pitock was also named to the All-SAA Second Team. Pitock finished the season with a team-high six assists.

Brianna Buehler

A senior defender from Hartland, Wisconsin, Brianna Buehler is claiming her first All-SAA Second Team selection. This year, she recorded three defensive saves and two assists.

Sam Dunn

A senior midfielder from Hartland, Wisconsin, Sam Dunn is claiming her third-straight All-SAA honor in 2019, with a second-team-selection. She was named to the first team in 2018 and second team in 2017. Dunn finished the year with six goals, two defensive saves and five assists.

Kelsey Fulton

A senior forward from Hartland, Wisconsin, Kelsey Fulton is making her second appearance on the All-SAA Second Team, the first coming in 2017. Fulton finished the year with five a goals and five assists.

Centre swept the other three major awards with Savannah Elpers winning SAA Offensive Player of the Year, Caroline Brotzge winning SAA Defensive Player of the Year and Jenelle Anthony claiming the SAA Coach of the Year honor.

CUW finished as the No. 3 seed in the SAA in 2019.
