SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Overtime was unkind to the Falcons on Saturday in Ohio. The Tigers bit the Falcons with a 2-1 overtime victory to send the Blue and White to 2-5 on the year.
Defense was the name of the game on Saturday, with neither team finding a way on to the scoreboard until the 55th minute.
Sophomore Katelyn Fitzgerald (Wood River, Ill.) finished the day with 11 saves.
The Tigers struck first in the 55th minute on Saturday.
Senior Kelsey Fulton (Hartland, Wis.) tied the game with 100 seconds left in regulation off a pass from freshman Lorri Pitock (Naperville, Ill.).
Wittenberg went on to score three minutes into overtime to take the victory.
The Tigers outshot CUW on Saturday, 17-8.
The Falcons look to bounce back on Sunday at DePauw.
