Field Hockey claims NFHCA National Academic Team Award

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW field hockey team was awarded the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award on Wednesday afternoon by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

"I am very proud of this team," said head coach Samantha Landis-Schoessow. "I am proud of their commitment they have made to our program and to their academics. It is great to see their hard work pay off on the field and in the classroom."

CUW was named one of 131 teams to claim the honor.

The Division III National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2018-19 school year.

The Falcons posted a team grade-point average of 3.55 on the season.

This is the second-straight year that the Falcons have claimed this honor.

The NFHCA announced the top-five GPA performing schools as well with Swarthmore (3.76) topping the list.
