Field Hockey lands two LongStreth/NFHCA All-Region selections

MEQUON, Wis. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association accounted two Falcons to the Longstreth/NFHCA Great Lakes All-Region teams on Wednesday.

"We are very proud of Sam and Megan for their hard work and dedication to our team," said head coach Samantha Landis-Schoessow. "This is a much deserved award for both and helps to bring recognition to not only CUW, but also, midwest field hockey, as they are both Wisconsin natives."

On the Great Lakes Region First Team was midfielder Sam Dunn. A junior from Sussex, Wisconsin, Dunn is claiming her second NFHCA All-Region honor.  In 2017, she claimed the program's first All-Region honor with a Second-Team selection. Three weeks ago, Dunn was named to the All-Southern Athletic Association First Team.

She started all 15 games for CUW and finished with six goals and four assists. The Sussex native was a perfect two-for-two in penalty strokes in 2018. Against Ferrum, she recorded a hat trick, with three goals and an assist.

Named to the Great Lakes All-Region Second Team was Megan McPike. A freshman from Mequon, Wisconsin, McPike is claiming her first NFHCA honor. This year, McPike was named the SAA Newcomer of the Year and was named to the All-SAA First Team.

McPike broke the school record for points in a season with 36, with a school record 17 goals and two assists. The CUW freshman recorded three hat tricks in 2018, against Ferrum, Transylvania and DePauw.
