Field Hockey trio earns All-SAA honors
MEQUON, Wis. – The Southern Athletic Association named three Falcons to the All-SAA Team for field hockey on Tuesday morning. Sam Dunn and Megan McPike were named to the All-SAA First Team and Callie Neumann was named to the All-SAA Second Team. Megan McPike was named the Newcomer of the Year. CUW has had three selections for the last two seasons.
"We are very proud of our team and the accomplishments they've eared both as a team and individually," said head coach Samantha Landis-Schoessow. "These individuals have worked very hard and would be the first to credit their success to the support of their teammates."
A junior from Sussex, Wisconsin, Dunn is claiming her second-straight All-SAA honor. In SAA play, Dunn recorded a goal and an assist. Dunn was a first-team selection in 2017. Dunn led the Falcons in 2018 with four assists, she also had six goals to her name.
A freshman from Mequon, Wisconsin, McPike is being named to the All-SAA team for the first time in her career. This is the second-straight year that CUW has had the Newcomer of the Year, with Neumann claiming the honor is 2017. McPike scored six goals in the SAA in 2018. McPike broke the program record for goals in a season with 17. She finished the year with 36 points on 17 goals and two assists.
A sophomore midfielder from Dousman, Wisconsin, Neumann is on the All-SAA team for the second-straight year. Neumann finished the SAA season with six shots. Neumann was a first-team selection in 2017.
Rhodes had the SAA Offensive Player of the Year in Hailey Mules and the Coach of the Year in Lindsay Kasten. Allyson Benz was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
