Falcons power through Sweet Briar for third-straight win

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The freshmen once again were the talk of the show in this win over Sweet Briar College. Ellie Basting had two goals, while Savannah Duckett and Megan McPike had a goal apiece as the Falcons beat the Vixens 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Ellie Basting (Jackson, Wis.) had the game of her career in this one as she scored twice in the second half against the Vixens. Basting scored her second goal on an assist from McPike with 8:06 left in the game to extend the lead to 4-0.
  • Savannah Duckett (Port Edwards, Wis.) scored her first goal of the season towards the end of the second period to put the icing on the cake and bring the score to 5-0. Duckett's score came off a rebound off a save by Vixens Goalie Rosemary Austin.
  • Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) continued her strong freshman campaign with another goal and an assist against Sweet Briar. McPike scored the opening goal in this match on an assist from Rachel Larson 27:35 into the first period. Her goal and assist bring her season totals to 5 and 2 respectively.
  • Junior Sam Dunn (Sussex, Wis.) added another goal to this win. Dunn scored her fourth goal of the season 23:52 into the second period which matches her career high while bring her career total to 11.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Falcons are off to a hot start bringing their record to 3-0. This is the first 3-0 start in the Falcons history.
