All-NACC Football postseason awards announced

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin had eight players represented on the All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference postseason awards list, the league office announced on Friday.

The Falcons had three players earn All-NACC First Team recognition, two on the All-NACC Second Team list and three were named All-NACC Honorable Mention.

All-NACC First Team honorees

Senior offensive lineman Tyler Ryan (Winona, Minn.) helped the Falcons offense amass 3,128 total offensive yards throughout the season, which included 1,718 passing and 1,410 rushing yards. They scored 24 touchdowns and had a season-best performance of 529 yards and 41 points against Rockford in a home Senior Day victory.

Junior linebacker Dwayne Rackard III (Orlando, Fla.) was second on the team with 82 total tackles (44 solo). He recorded 1.5 sackes, four tackles for loss, forced a fumble and recovered two fumbles. Rackard has a season-best performance with 12 tackles against Benedictine and Aurora, both were home games. He also had two fumble recoveries, with one resulting in a touchdown at Augsburg.

Sophomore defensive back Josiah McDermit (Kansasville, Wis.) led the NACC with five interceptions, to go along with 23 tackles and three tackles for loss. He twice picked off a pair of passes in a game (against Aurora and Rockford), while also intercepting a pass at Wisconsin Lutheran in the regular-season finale. McDermit had a season-best six tackles (five solo) at Lakeland.

All-NACC Second Team honorees

Junior running back Matt Montgomery (Hillsboro, Texas) led the Falcons with 786 rushing yards, which also ranked seventh in the NACC. He carried the ball 146 times for a 5.4 average per rush and found the end zone eight times (tied for eighth in the NACC). Montgomery had a career game with 203 yards on 31 carries (6.5 average) and three touchdowns in a road victory over Concordia Chicago.

Junior Connor Stoming (Germantown, Wis.) had a team-high 89 tackles (45 solo), to go along with two sacks, six tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He had double-digit tackles in five games, including a season-high 14 (11 solo) at Concordia Chicago.

All-NACC Honorable Mention honorees.

Senior tight end Jake Riportella (Des Plaines, Ill.) had 15 receptions for 222 yards and a touchdown, while rushing four times for 22 yards. He had four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown against Benedictine and three receptions for 50 yards against Rockford during the season.

Senior returner Isaiah Tenette (Sacramento, Calif.) had a NACC-best kickoff return average of 25.6 yards on 13 attempts and scored a touchdown on an 84-yard return against Rockford. He also had 10 receptions for 95 yards and a score.

Sophomore defensive back Gabe Christenson (Kewaskum, Wis.) tallied 38 tackles (24) solo and two interceptions. He picked off passes against Rockford and at Wisconsin Lutheran. Christenson tallied eight solo tackles at Trine.

Concordia Wisconsin finished the season 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the NACC.
