Dr. Val Keiper completed his 30th season as the head coach of the Concordia University Wisconsin baseball team in 2013. Keiper amassed 436 wins during his time with Falcons. He stepped down as head coach on May 31, 2013, but remains with the program as an assistant coach.

During his tenure with the Falcons, Keiper's teams have won 20 games in six different seasons, including a program-best 24 wins during the 1991 season. In 2004 CUW went 20-18 and advanced to the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament.

Keiper led CUW to back-to-back NAC Tournament appearances in 2010 and 2011 as it finished third in the league both seasons. The Falcons combined to go 30-14 in conference play during those two years.

In 1997 and 1998 the Falcons won back-to-back regular season Lake Michigan Conference Championships under Keiper's guidance. CUW went 12-2 in the league in 1997, resulting in a program-best .857 conference winning percentage.

Keiper was given the responsibility of starting the CUW Baseball program back up in 1982, as the Falcons had not played since the 1928 season. Keiper had been the head coach until the completion of the 2013 season when he stepped down, with the exception of taking two years off in 1989 and 1990.

The Concordia University Portland graduate is also an education professor at CUW and spends his time outside of work and baseball with his family. Keiper has been married to Karen for 28 years and they have raised three children, Alec, Brett, and Mitchell.
