Falcons down Davis & Elkins in triangular meet

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The CUW acrobatics and tumbling team finished its West Virginia road trip with a second-place finish in a triangular meet at West Liberty. The Falcons recorded 216.620 points on Sunday, over eight points more than Davis & Elkins. West Liberty finished in first place with 230.795 points. CUW moves to 1-3 on the season.

"This weekend was a great opportunity for the team to get some away meets under their belt," said head coach Sarah Koenig. "While we made some good improvements in certain areas, we look forward to getting back to work and look forward to continuing the season srrong."

The Falcons posted six scores over nine points on Sunday.

The Blue and White opened the day with a score of 29.40 points in the compulsory event. In the pyramid heat, CUW posted a score of 9.35 points.

The acro event saw the Falcons finish with a season-high score of 25.95 points. Including a score of 9.30 points in heat one.

In the pyramid event, CUW recorded nine points in all three heats at 27.35 points, highlighted by the synchronized heat with 9.20 points.

The Falcons earned 24.00 points in the toss event.

In the tumbling event, CUW finished with 40.20 points.

CUW closed the day with a score of 69.82 points in the team event.

The Falcons return to action on March 4 at home against Gannon.
