ACHA Hockey drops series finale with Marquette

MEQUON, Wis.  The Concordia Wisconsin Falcons fell 4-3 on Saturday afternoon to the Marquette Golden Eagles at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

THE BASICS
- Final Score: Marquette 4, Concordia Wisconsin 3
- Records: Marquette 8-5-1, Concordia Wisconsin 12-3-1

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles jumped ahead to a two-goal lead in the opening period.
- Matt Gregor (Ashland, Wis.) put the Falcons on the board in the second frame to bring CUW within one.
- The two teams traded goals in the third period. The Golden Eagles scored in the seventh minute to pull ahead 3-1, but Wyatt Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) answered for the Falcons in the 13th to cut the deficit in half. Marquette scored again in the 16th minute to go up 4-2, but Andrew Doepp (New Lenox, Ill.) scored in the 18th to set the score at 4-3. The Falcons were unable to score again as the Golden Eagles became just the second team to win a game over CUW this season.
