Women’s Cross Country takes 28th at NCAA Midwest Regional
WINNECONNE, Wis. – The Falcons of the CUW women's cross country team finished the year with a 28th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championship. The Blue and White finished with 784 points. The Bears of Washington University of St. Louis won with 37 points.
"The team was ready today," said head coach Russ De Lap. "We had some really outstanding performances today. We had the best overall team performance of the season. I am so proud of how this team ran together and for one another."
Junior LaNea Bartel (Kewaunee, Wis.) led CUW in 100th place at 24:27.8, for a career-best time.
Freshman MaryGrace Cleinmark (Danvers, Ill.) crossed the finish line at 25:41.8 for a season-best time in 158th place.
Junior Alden Goucher (Port Charlotte, Fla.) shattered her season-best time when she clocked in at 26:08.9 in 173rd place.
Freshman Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) recorded a 179th place finish at 26:22.4.
In 190th place was freshman Madison Chiappetta (Lenexa, Kan.) at 26:48.1 for her best time at CUW.
Sophomore Alyssa Jodarski (Eldorado, Wis.) finished the race at 28:43.8 in 224th place.
Paige Lawler of WashU claimed the regional title.
The Falcons will return to action in 2020.
