Women’s Cross Country secures sixth-place finish at Ken Weidt Invite

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons opened the 2019 women's cross country season on Saturday at the CUW Ken Weidt Invitational. The Falcons recorded a sixth-place finish on Saturday with 187 points. Carleton ran away with the race with 17 points.

"It was a great day getting to see everybody race today," said head coach Russ DeLap. "Most raced faster than expected so that is an awesome sign. It was a great team effort for both teams."

Junior LaNea Bartel (Kewaunee, Wis.) led the Falcons in 21st place at 25:33.6.

In 47th place was freshman Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) standing at 27:51.0.

Clocking in at 28:37.0 was sophomore Alyssa Jodarski (Eldorado, Wis.) in 60th place.

Crossing the finish line at 30:04.2 was junior Alden Goucher (Port Charlotte, Fla.) in 76th place.

Sophomore Madison Chiappetta (Lenexa, Kan.) finished in 79th place at 30:11.4 and freshman Kaitlynn Sabish (Campbellsport, Wis.) was in 84th place at 30:42.6.

The Falcons return to action on Oct. 4 at The Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invite.
