Women's Cross Country appears in preseason regional rankings

NEW ORLEANS – For the second straight season, the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Cross Country team will begin its season as a regionally ranked team.

The Falcons, who return a strong lineup this fall, are ranked ninth in the USTFCCA Midwest Regional Rankings, as the organization released its preseason polls Tuesday. CUW was ranked 10th in last year's preseason poll and stayed in that position for much of the early season.

The Falcons return four of their top five runners from the NCAA Regionals last season, including All-Region performer Nora Imperl. Also back in the fold for CUW are Cassandra Sprotte, Martha Kulberg, and Molly Wirtz, among others.

The Falcons are one of two NACC schools to be regionally ranked, the other being Aurora, who checks in at No. 10. Washington University, which has captured the last three regional titles, sits atop the poll, followed by UW-La Crosse.
