Falcons Smash St. Mary’s

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Falcons opened the Wisconsin-Whitewater Invite on Friday afternoon with a 3-0 against St. Mary's of Minnesota. The Falcons sank St. Mary's with a 25-20, 25-12, 25-17 victory to improve to 6-3.

Senior Gabrielle Pavlik (Pewaukee, Wis.) pounded the Cardinals in the first set with five kills.

The Falcons blasted the Cardinals in the second set with a 25-12 victory. The Falcons started the set with a 6-1 lead behind the serve of freshman Lauren Shroba (Bolingbrook, Ill.).

The Blue and White hit a blistering .576 in the third set with 11 kills on 25 total attacks.

Lauren Shroba led the flock with 5.5 points.

Gabrielle Pavlik led all players with 11 kills.

Senior Makenzie Vertz (Mukwonago, Wis.) collected a match-high 22 assists and Lauren Shroba led all players with 21 digs.

CUW will face Carroll and Carthage on Saturday.
