ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – It was a difficult weekend for the Concordia University Wisconsin volleyball squad as they fell to 8-23 overall after dropping four non-conference matches at the Pumpkin Bash, hosted by Augustana College.
CUW fell to Simpson College, 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 27-25) in Saturday's first match. The Falcons next opponent was Buena Vista University and Joe Cawley's team held a 2-1 set lead before fading. BVU claimed a 15-13 victory in the deciding five-set contest.
The Falcons had already been swept in both matches on Friday afternoon.
Cawley's team dropped a 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-14) match against Wartburg College prior to losing to host Augustana College 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-8).
Statistics have not been made available for any of the four matches. CUW travels to Edgewood College on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match in the first round of the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament.
