Volleyball wins second straight, keep postseason hopes alive

AURORA, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin won its second straight Northern Athletics Conference match on Saturday afternoon after defeating Aurora University 3-1 (14-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22) inside Thornton Gymnasium.

The victory moved the Falcons closer to the final spot in the NAC Tournament with just one league match to play on the schedule. CUW (7-19, 4-7 NAC) travels to MSOE on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. road match.

Sophomore Hannah Griffiths (Antigo, Wis.) led all players with 11 kills and 17 digs, while junior Ashley Faber (Kewaskum, Wis.) smashed 10 kills on 29 attempts. Sophomore Carley Valentine (De Pere, Wis.) ended the match with 18 assists and 12 digs, while sophomore Erin Howard (Labadie, Mo.) dug 13 attack attempts.

Alyssa Howey and Lexi O'Boyle each had seven kills for AU (9-18, 5-7 NAC), while O'Boyle assisted on a match-best 26 kills. Jessica Barney recorded 16 digs and Kelly Coleman dug 13 attack attempts of her own.
