Volleyball drops two matches on final day of Pizza Hut Classic

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches during the final day of the Pizza Hut Classic, hosted by UW-Oshkosh. The Falcons fell 3-0 (19-25, 6-25, 18-25) to Martin Luther College before losing 3-1 (25-23, 10-25, 14-25, 23-25) to Carroll University.
Sophomore Carley Valentine (De Pere, Wis.) led the Falcons during the four matches at the tournament with 37 kills, while freshman Melissa Jonas (Watertown, Wis.) assisted on 67 kills. Junior Ashley Faber (Kewaskum, Wis.) smashed 32 kills, while sophomore Hannah Griffiths (Antigo, Wis.) had 25 kills.
Defensively, sophomore Erin Howard (Labadie, Mo.) had 43 digs and Griffiths recorded 41. Senior Amanda Stahmann (Van Dyne, Wis.) led the front line defense with nine total blocks.
CUW returns to action on Tuesday with a Northern Athletics Conference match at Maranatha Baptist Bible College at 7 p.m.
