Women’s Tennis Finishes Fall Play with a Victory at CUC
RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The CUW women's tennis team finished the fall season on Friday with a 9-0 victory at Concordia Chicago. The Falcons closed conference play in second place at 8-1 and are 9-1 on the season.
The Falcons scored the first point of the day with an 8-1 victory with senior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) and sophomore Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) at No. 1 doubles.
The team of sophomore Auden Pearson (Kaukauna, Wis.) and freshman Mya Werning (Watertown, Wis.) won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Sophomore Jordana Burkeland (Oregon, Wis.) and freshman Peyton Morgan (Arlington Heights, Ill.) picked up an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Mya Werning opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Mackenzie Straulin at No. 6 singles.
Peyton Morgan swept away Madison Perkins at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Freshman Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis.) collected a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Ali Wingood at No. 1 singles.
Freshman Karen Frerking (Fort Wayne, Ind.) sank Danzcel Gerona at No. 4 singles, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Jordana Burkeland bounced Kamila Giza at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-1.
Auden Pearson pounced on Jessica Parker at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0.
The Falcons will return to play in February.
