CUW sweeps Alverno on Sunday Morning

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – It was all Concordia on Sunday morning when the Falcons swept Alverno on the road with a 9-0 victory. The Blue and White only dropped one game at No. 1 doubles against the Inferno to improve to 8-4 and 5-0 in the NACC.

Junior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and junior Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.) improved to 3-0 as a team at No. 1 doubles with the victory.

At No. 2 doubles, freshman Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) and junior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) also improved to 3-0 as a team.

Junior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and freshman Jordana Burkeland (Oregon, Wis.) picked up their second win in two attempts as a team at No. 3 doubles.

Ricki Budewitz improved to 6-6 on the season at No. 1 single and to 4-1 in NACC play.

Mia Andrae picked up her first victory at No. 2 singles and improved to 5-7 on the season.

Mallory Moen moved to 8-4 on the year and remains unbeaten in the NACC at 5-0 with the victory at No. 3 singles.

At No. 4 singles, Jennifer Mies soared to 6-2 on the year and 5-0 in NACC matches.

Elizabeth Johnson recorded her team-best ninth victory with the win at No. 5 singles and stayed perfect at 5-0 in NACC play.

Jordana Burkeland earned her first victory as a Falcon at No. 6 singles on Sunday.

With the victory the Falcons secured a spot in the NACC Tournament.

The Blue and White can secure a first-round bye with a victory at home against Dominican.
