Women’s Tennis tops MSOE in NACC opener

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons rolled on Wednesday evening to open the NACC schedule with an 8-1 victory over MSOE. The victory propels the Blue and White to 3-1 on the year and to 1-0 in the Northern Collegiate Athletics Conference.

Senior Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) and sophomore Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) drew first blood on Wednesday with an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Freshman Antonina Sanna (Clinton Township, Mich.) and sophomore Ashley Saniter (Beaver Dam, Wis.) kept the winning ways rolling at No. 3 doubles with an 8-2 victory.

The Raiders' lone victory came at No. 1 doubles.

Rebekah Spiegelhoff sank Olivia Boden at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-0.

Freshman Julia Vitale (Elm Grove, Wis.) made quick work of Leah Becker at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

Antonina Sanna secured the victory at No. 4 singles with a come-from-behind victory against Cierra Smith at 3-6, 6-0, 6-1.

Sophomore Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.) edged Katie Clements at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 7-5.

After dropping the first set, sophomore Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) was able to rally to defeat Hannah Marron at No. 3 singles, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Sophomore Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) brought out the singles broom on court one with a 7-5, 4-6, 10-3 victory over Daniela Svedova.

The Falcons will travel to Illinois Tech on Saturday for a rematch of the 2019 NACC Tournament Semifinals.
