Women’s Tennis clips Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Falcons closed the regular season with a 6-3 victory at Carroll on Wednesday. The Blue and White finish the regular season with a 14-7 record.

CUW struck first with a victory at No. 2 doubles, the duo of senior Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) and freshman Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) won, 8-1.

At No. 3 doubles, freshman Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and freshman Jennifer Mies (Pewaukee, Wis.) downed the Pioneers, 8-6.

Carroll closed doubles play with an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles.

The Falcons earned the first four points in singles play.

Bailey Kelly sank Allison Krusa at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-4.

Junior Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.) made quick work of Shana Klenk at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-2.

Freshman Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) rallied from behind to clinch the match at No. 6 singles, 5-7, 6-0, 10-2.

Junior Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) earned the final Falcon point at No. 4 singles, with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Vanessa Ignatew.

The Pioneers finished the match with victories at No.1 and No. 2 singles.

The Falcons return to action on May 5 in the NACC Tournament against the highest remaining seed.
