Falcons down Hamline
ORLANDO, Fla. – The CUW women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 victory on Tuesday night against Hamline in Florida. The Falcons improve to 11-3 on the year and the Pipers fall to 4-5.
The Falcons started the night sweeping doubles play.
Junior Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.) and Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) defeated Hamline's Witt and Thao at No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
At No. 2 doubles, freshman Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and senior Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) downed Anderson and Peterick, 8-5.
Senior Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) and junior Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Plesant, Wis.) sank Kopiecki and Rugg at No. 1 doubles, 8-6.
Ricki Budewitz won at No. 2 singles against Tessa Rugg, 6-2, 6-2.
Bailey Kelly clinched the match at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Claire Witt.
The Falcons close spring break play on Thursday against Bethel and Grinnell.
