Women’s Tennis opens spring break schedule
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Falcons opened spring break with a pair of losses to Springfield and North Central. CUW moves to 10-3 on the year.
The Blue and White opened the day with a 6-3 loss to Springfield.
Springfield started the day taking the first five points.
Senior Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) earned the first Falcon point at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Melissa Parrish.
Freshman Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) downed Juliette Piazza at No. 6 singles, 2-6, 6-1, 10-3.
Junior Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.) closed the match with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Rachel Ahlmeyer.
The Cardinals took the first two doubles points.
Emma Sievers and freshman Ashley Saniter (Beaver Dam, Wis.) edged the Cardinals at No. 3 doubles, 8-7 (7-4).
North Central won the first three singles points.
Junior Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) sank Katie McGraw at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-0.
Emma Sievers ended the day with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles against Morgan House.
The Falcons look to bounce back on Tuesday against Hamline.
