Falcons defeat Muskies, secure No. 2 seed for NACC Tournament

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin defeated Lakeland, 9-0, on Saturday to lock up the No. 2 seed in the NACC Tournament at a first-round bye in April. The Falcons have been no lower than the second seed for the postseason tournament the last five seasons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin cruised to a 3-0 lead after doubles play, with junior Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.) and freshman Ashley Saniter (Beaver Dam, Wis.) defeating their No. 3 doubles opponents by an 8-1 score.
- In total, four Falcons shutout their opponents by a 6-0, 6-0 score during the easy victory. Senior Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) at No. 1 singles, freshman Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) at No. 3 singles, Sievers at No. 4 singles and Spiegelhoff at No. 6 singles.

MATCH NOTES
- During the 10 conference matches this season, the Falcons won eight times by a 9-0 score.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons will await the release of the spring schedule but do know they will play on May 5 in the semifinal match of the NACC Tournament in Madison, Wis., at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
