Women’s Tennis Stays Undefeated with Shutout Victory
MEQUON, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin's women's tennis team stayed undefeated with their sixth-consecutive victory Tuesday afternoon over Alverno College, 9-0, in Northern Athletics Conference competition at North Shore Country Club.
Sophomore Meagan Harrington (Kingsford, Mich.) continued her dominance at the No. 1 singles position with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Junior Julie Spransy (Brown Deer, Wis.) and junior Jaclyn Ward (Franklin, Wis.) also stay undefeated with 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-1 victories, respectively, to also stay undefeated in singles play.
Junior Callie Reinke (West Allis, Wis.) and Catherine Schotte captured victories to give CUW a 6-0 lead heading into doubles competition.
The combination of Ward and Reinke earned an 8-0 victory in double play, while the remaining Falcons pairings also won.
CUW returns to the court Saturday for a pair of NAC matches. The Falcons host Aurora University at 10 a.m. before playing Benedictine University at 2 p.m.
