Falcons Quiet the Cougars on Senior Day

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team celebrated senior day with a 4-0 victory over Concordia Chicago. The victory keeps CUW in first place in the NACC at 11-1-0 and 12-3-0 overall.

"The seniors have meant so much to the development and progression of this program," said head coach Ryan Middendorf. "Their contributions have been countless to the success over the years.  They have set a new standard for each season they have been a part of and their impact will be present for years to come.  They will be leaving the program in a better place than when they arrived on campus."

Junior Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway) started the scoring in the 33rd minute on a blast past keeper.

Junior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) scored on a three-on-two advantage off a pass from Haugland in the 42nd minute,

Haugland scored again in the 85th minute off a pass from Downs.

Junior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) scored on a penalty kick with nine seconds remaining.

The four goals help the Falcons in a potential tiebreaker with the Stars and Raiders.

Senior Kaeley Sterkel (Dana Point, Calif.) secured four saves in another clean sheet.

The Falcons return to action on Tuesday against Lake Forest.
