Women’s Soccer opens NCAA Tournament at Wartburg

MEQUON, Wis. – The NCAA announced the field for the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament on Monday afternoon. The Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin will open the NCAA Tournament against the Knights of Wartburg on Saturday, in Iowa.

The Falcons earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament with a 2-1 victory over Dominican in the NACC Championship.

This is the second NCAA appearance for the Falcons, with the first coming in 2004.

Wartburg enters the NCAA Tournament with a 14-2-3 record and a seven-match winning streak. The Knights won the American Rivers Conference with a 2-0 victory over Luther.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

The other match-up in Waverly, Iowa, is Pomona-Pitzer out of California and St. Scholastica out of Minnesota.

The time of the match will be determined later in the week.
