Ashley Yacks earns NACC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honor

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced its weekly student-athlete of the week winner on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Ashley Yacks claimed the honor of NACC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week in Women's Soccer.

"This is a well-deserved honor for Ashley and our entire defense," said head coach Ryan Middendorf. "I think that our defending has been strong everywhere on the field, but Ashley has certainly anchored our defensive efforts. She has been nothing but solid all season."

A senior from Whittier, California, Yacks is claiming the NACC honor for the first time in her career.

Yacks helped anchor a defense that did not allow a goal in three NACC matches over the week.

The CUW defense only allowed 10 shots on goal on the week and kept Rockford from registering a shot on Saturday.

She is the second Falcon to claim the honor in 2019. Junior Kaeley Sterkel also won the honor in September.

Yacks and the Falcons return to action on Wednesday at Edgewood.
