Women’s Soccer nets strong 2018 season

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women finished the year with a winning record at 11-10-0. The Falcons advanced to the NACC Tournament Semifinals. With the 11 victories, the Falcons reached the 10-win plateau for the 20th time in program history.

Five Falcons netted All-NACC honors in 2018. Junior Shannon Carroll (Mundelein, Ind.) earned All-NACC First-Team honors. On the All-NACC Second Team was junior Alexandra Tomich (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and senior Ashley Johnson (Chesterfield, Mich.). Senior Nicole Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) and junior Josie Dombrowski (Bartell, Ill.) claimed All-NACC Honorable-Mention Honors.

Sophomore Olivia Kindt (Dyer, Ind.) posted a record of 9-6-0 in the net for CUW. She finished with a 1.79 goals-against average and 58 saves. Kindt was a two-time NACC Defensive Player of the Week selection.

Alexandra Tomich led the Blue and White with 31 points, on 15 goals and one assist.

Freshman Isabel Downs finished the year with 10 goals and four assists.

Nicole Ciesielcyzk led the Falcons with seven assists. She also had seven goals on the season.

Against Alverno, freshman Crosbie Kowalski (Milwaukee, Wis.) recorded the second-highest point total in a single match, with four goals and two assists. She started her scoring on a penalty kick.

The Falcons' defense held opponents to one goal or less in 10 matches.

CUW looks to build off a strong 2018 season to move forward in 2019.
