Women’s Soccer wins shutout on Senior Day

MEQUON, Wis. – Allison McElwee scored the game-winner for the Falcons as Concordia Wisconsin shut out Concordia Chicago 1-0 on Saturday.

THE BASICS
-Final Score: Concordia Wisconsin 1, Concordia Chicago 0
-Location: Fitting Field – Mequon, Wis.
-Records: Concordia Wisconsin 9-9 (7-3 NACC), Concordia Chicago 5-12 (5-5 NACC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
-McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) gave the Falcons the only goal they needed in the 25th minute of the first half. At the left side of the goalie box, Nicole Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) threaded the ball to the right and found McElwee, who guided it in for her sixth goal of the season.
-Olivia Kindt (Dyer, Ind.) was flawless in goal, saving the only two shots taken.
-Madeline Kroll had eight saves in goal for the Cougars.
-While the match was decided on one goal, the Falcons had the momentum for most of the match. CUW outshot CUC 14-5, with the Falcons taking 10 shots on goal to the Cougars' two.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-This was the 16th match between Concordia Wisconsin and Concordia Chicago in Women's Soccer program history. The Falcons are 14-1-1 in the series, winning the previous two matches and are 8-1-1 in the past 10.
-The first match between these teams took place on Thursday, September 18, 2003.
