Offense, defense stellar as Women’s Soccer shuts out Lakeland

MEQUON, Wis. – Nicole Ciesielczyk had a hat trick before halftime and Concordia Wisconsin allowed only a single shot on goal as Women's Soccer defeated Lakeland in an 8-0 shutout victory on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcons controlled the game from the opening whistle, outshooting the Muskies 34-3. In the first half alone, Lakeland managed just a single shot while CUW took 25.
-Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) scored thrice in the opening period to help put the Falcons up 6-0 by halftime. The senior started her hat trick with a goal at 22:45, kicked in her second at 40:13, and completed the trick at 43:45. Ciesielczyk scored all three of her goals without assistance.
-Alexandra Tomich (Mission Viejo, Calif.) gave the Falcons all they needed to win the game in the first five minutes of play with her ninth goal of the season. Shannon Carroll (Mundelein, Ill.) and Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) each scored in the opening frame as well, with Downs' goal being her ninth of the season to match Tomich.
-The second frame was highlighted by a pair of unassisted goals, with Ashley Johnson (Chesterfield, Mich.) adding to the Falcons lead and Crosbie Kowalski (Milwaukee, Wis.) scoring the final goal of the game within the final five minutes of regulation.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-Women's Soccer is now 15-6 against Lakeland in program history. The Falcons have won 13 in a row.
