Women's Soccer tabbed third in NACC preseason poll

MILWAUKEE – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Soccer team was picked to finish third in the NACC this season, according to the preseason poll voted on by the leagues head coaches and sports information directors.

The Falcons are coming off a 10-7-3 season, including a 7-2-1 mark in conference play. CUW made it to the semifinals of the NACC playoffs last season, and look to progress even further this year. The Falcons last won a conference title in 2015, posting a 10-0 league record.

Dominican was picked to repeat as NACC Champions after posting an 8-0-2 league record last season. The Stars received 19 first-place votes and 283 poll points.

MSOE garnered five first-place votes and 264 points, slotted second in the poll. The Raiders were the only other team besides Dominican to receive first-place votes.

Aurora tied CUW with 229 points at third place.

Marian was slotted fifth at 167 points. Benedictine (151) was picked sixth, followed by Illinois Tech (147) and Edgewood (132). 

Concordia Chicago (119), Wisconsin Lutheran (75), Lakeland (47), and Alverno (29) rounded out the poll. 

CUW will open its season on Saturday, September 1st with a non-conference home match versus Franklin. The Falcons open NACC play Wednesday, September 19th on the road at Marian.
