Women's Soccer shuts down Benedictine in NACC win

MEQUON, Wis. – Kayla Schlosser scored in the 13th minute and from there the Concordia University Wisconsin defense took over as the Falcons downed Benedictine in NACC Women's Soccer action Saturday. CUW allowed just 10 shots for the Eagles in the match, only two of those on goal in a 1-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons scored in the 13th minute on a header from Schlosser (Germantown, Wis.). She took a perfect cross from Nicole Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.), giving CUW a 1-0 lead.

- The rest of the game was about defense and the Falcons shut down the Eagles in this one. Senior keeper Tabitha Ortiz (Plainfield, Ill.) made two saves in the win, as CUW allowed a total of 10 shots in the match, just three in the second half.

- The Falcons finished the contest with 17 shots, four of those on goal. Cassidy Henson made three saves for the Eagles.

- Schlosser led all players with six shots while Holly Ward tallied four for Benedictine.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Schlosser has now scored the last four goals for the Falcons. She recorded a hat trick for CUW in a 3-2 win over Marian on Wednesday. This season, the junior has five of the team's eight scores.
