Wrestling competes at difficult Pete Willson Invitational

WHEATON, Ill. – Concordia Wisconsin sent eight wrestlers to compete at the difficult Pete Willson Invitational on Friday at Saturday inside King Arena.

Senior Miguel Angel Betancourt (El Paso, Texas) earned a 13-0 major decision victory during his opening match of the tournament at 149 pounds against Jacob Hanssen (Buena Vista).

Junior Alex Montbriand (Bartlett, Ill.) defeated Denver Aydelott (Otterbein) with a 6-4 decision after receiving a bye in the 165-pound division.

Sophomore Merrick O'Donnell (Huntington Beach, Calif.) earned a win by fall in three minutes and 52 seconds against Hunter Mcnutt (Defiance) at 184 pounds.

Freshman Colin Riley (San Antonio, Texas) recorded an 8-5 decision victory over E'Tayvious Hentz (MacMurray) at 285 pounds.

Concordia Wisconsin returns to the mat on Thursday with a CCIW dual meet against MSOE at 7 pm.
