Wrestling competes at Al Hanke Invitational

ELMHURST, Ill. – Concordia Wisconsin's Marco Padilla placed fourth in the 125-pound bracket at the Al Hanke Invitational, hosted by Elmhurst, on Saturday inside R.A. Faganel Hall.

Sophomore Marco Padilla (Elmwood Park, Ill.) paced the Falcons with a fourth-place finish at 125 pounds after going 3-2 on the day. He dropped his opening match before winning three in a row. During that stretch, he pinned Josh Miller (Adrian) in 2:57 before earning a 7-4 decision win against Ryan Boncamper (Chicago). Padilla also had his arm raised after a 12-3 major decision victory against Justin Montani (UW-Whitewater).

Sophomore Brogan Howard (Prineville, Ore.) recorded a sixth-place finish at 197 pounds. He had a 2-1 decision victory over Duncan Heath (MSOE) prior to taking a 3-2 decision against the bracket's top-ranked wrestler Luke Dodd (Saint John's). After losing to move to the consolation bracket, he lost his next two matches to take sixth place.

Junior Ramiro Vasquez (Yuma, Ariz.) had a 9-2 decision win over Jordan Scofield (Adrian) at 133 pounds.

Concordia Wisconsin is next in action on Thursday with a CCIW dual at Elmhurst with a start time scheduled for 7 pm.
