Padilla wins three times in debut

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Marco Padilla won a  trio of matches to lead Concordia Wisconsin during dual meets against UW-Platteville, Dubuque and MacMurray at the Jim Fox Duals on Saturday.

Padilla first pinned Dillon Gottschalk at 125 pounds in three minutes and 46 seconds against UW-Platteville before earning a win by decision, 11-9, over Yonas Harris of Dubuque. He then concluded his day with an 8-4 decision victory over Ellex Williams of MacMurray.

Sophomore Merrick O'Donnell (Huntington Beach, Calif.) also picked up a 9-3 decision win against Delmontae Davis of Dubuque.

Against MacMurray _ Ramiro Vasquez walked off with an 8-6 decision over Reese Britton at 133 pounds, Freshman Bryan Jordan (Milwaukee, Wis.) had a 16-0 technical fall win against Quentin Crayne at 149 pounds and junior Alex Montbriand (Bartlett, Ill.) recorded a 16-0 technical fall himself over Brannyn Washington at 174 pounds. In the latter half of the dual, O'Donnell won by fall in 2:20 against Aleczander Moore at 184 pounds before sophomore Brogan Howard (Prineville, Ore.) had a pin in two minutes and 40 seconds at 187 pounds. The victory was wrapped up with a 12-2 major decision by freshman Collin Riley (San Antonio, Texas) versus E'Tayvious Hentz at 285 pounds.

Concordia Wisconsin is in action next at the Elmhurst Invitational on January 12.
