Women’s Hockey falls to St. Scholastica

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons scored the lone goal of the first period but could not hold off the Saints as Concordia Wisconsin fell 3-1 to St. Scholastica on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcons jumped ahead early with a goal by Maddy Millar (Anchorage, Alaska) in the first period. Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) assisted on the goal.
-From the second period onward, the Saints took control. Trailing 1-0 in the second, Alexi Klaas took advantage of a power-play opportunity to even the game for the Saints.
-At 18:07 in the second period, Klaas scored the game-winner for the Saints.
-Taylor Thompson added one more goal for the Saints in the third period to close out the scoring.
-Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) had 17 saves in goal for the Falcons. Lexi Thomeczek had 36 saves for the Saints.
-The Falcons outshot the Saints 37-20.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-This was the 25th meeting between the Falcons and Saints in Women's Hockey program history. The Falcons are 5-13-7 in the series.
