Women’s Hockey falls to UW-Superior in series finale

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons rallied down two goals to even the score, but could not complete the comeback as Concordia Wisconsin fell 4-2 to UW-Superior on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcons capitalized on power-play opportunities to score their goals. Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.) put CUW on the board late in the first period with her second goal of the season. Emily Godwin (London, Ontario) assisted Woodman with her goal.
-Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) followed up Woodman's goal with one of her own. The senior scored unassisted for her sixth of the season.
-Molly Shelton and Jenna Curtis gave the Yellowjackets a 2-0 lead in the first period before Woodman and Kennedy evened the score at 2-2.
-Amber Heidenrich scored the game-winner for UWS at 10:09 in the second period.
-Mandy Tomlinson added an insurance goal on a power-play late in the third to seal the game for the Yellowjackets.
-Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) had 24 saves in goal for the Falcons. Catherine Johnson had 29 saves for the Yellowjackets.
-The Falcons outshot the Yellowjackets 31-28.
