Women’s Hockey rallies to defeat UW-Superior in overtime

MEQUON, Wis. – Jossa Danis deflected in a shot from Emily Godwin to give the Falcons the overtime win as Concordia University Wisconsin rallied to defeat UW-Superior 2-1 on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Yellowjackets jumped out to an early lead as Kaleigh Martinson scored 53 seconds into the game.
-The game would remain scoreless until Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska) tied it for the Falcons halfway through the third period. Danis (Brandon, Manitoba) and Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) assisted Hull on the goal.
-Regulation ended with the game tied 1-1, so it was on to overtime. With less than two minutes remaining in overtime, Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.) found Godwin (London, Ontario), who took a shot. Danis managed to deflect the puck, diverting it past the goalie to give the Falcons the win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-This was only the second time that Concordia Wisconsin has defeated UW-Superior in program history and the first time at home.
-The Falcons are 2-12-2 all-time in the series.
-The last time the Falcons defeated the Yellowjackets was January 29, 2011.
