Women’s Hockey falls to St. Catherine

MEQUON, Wis. – Jossa Danis' third-period goal saved the Falcons from a shutout as Concordia Wisconsin was defeated 3-1 by St. Catherine on Saturday night. 

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
-For the second consecutive game, the first period went by without a goal.
-The Wildcats broke the stalemate in the second on Emilee Anderson's sixth goal of the season.
-The third period had three goals scored within a 40-second window. 13:01 into the frame, Brede Postier scored to double the Wildcats' lead. MacKenzie Ess added to that lead with an unassisted goal 26 seconds later.
-13 seconds after Ess' goal, Danis (Brandon, Manitoba) broke the shutout with her second goal of the season. Emily Godwin (London, Ontario) and Sam Lombardi (Ancaster, Ontario) assisted on the goal.
-Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) had 32 saves in goal for the Falcons, more than double the 15 saves Elizabeth Kubicek had for the Wildcats.
-The Falcons were outshot 35-16 by the Wildcats.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-This was the 9th game between Concordia Wisconsin and St. Catherine in program history. The Falcons are 2-6-1 in the series.
