Pattengale shuts out Wildcats in Women’s Hockey victory

MEQUON, Wis. – Christina Pattengale protected the net with 31 saves to help Concordia Wisconsin to a 2-0 shutout victory over St. Catherine on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After a quiet first period, the Falcons took advantage of a power play opportunity in the second to take a 1-0 lead. Emily Godwin (London, Ontario) scored the game-winner as Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) and Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.) assisted on the play.
-The Falcons added to their lead right out the gate in the third as Maddy Millar (Anchorage, Alaska) sped down the ice to score 12 seconds into the period. Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) and Kennedy assisted on the goal.
-Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) stopped all 31 shots on goal by the Wildcats, saving 16 in the third period alone. The senior's shutout was her first this season.
-Elizabeth Kubicek had 28 saves for the Wildcats.
-St. Catherine led in shots 31-30.
