Women’s Hockey defeats St. Norbert in home opener

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons scored five unanswered as the Concordia Wisconsin Women's Hockey team defeated St. Norbert 5-1 in their home opener on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After the Green Knights jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, the Falcons took control. CUW scored five unanswered goals to close out the game.
-Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) led the Falcons with two goals on the night to bring her season total to a team-leading six.
-Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.) scored in the first period to even the score at 1-1. In the second, Maddie Savage (Grand Rapids, Mich.) scored the game-winner to put the Falcons up 2-1.
-Wanless and Maddy Millar (Anchorage, Alaska) scored after Savage in the second, and Wanless scored the lone goal of the third.
-Christina Pattengale earned her third win of the season with 17 saves in net.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-This was the 21st game between Concordia Wisconsin and St. Norbert in Women's Hockey program history. The Falcons are 5-13-4 in the series. The Falcons have won each of the past two games.
