Five Falcons score as Women’s Hockey defeats Marian

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Madi Chapman led the Falcons with two goals as the Concordia Wisconsin Women's Hockey team defeated Marian 6-2 on Sunday afternoon.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Chapman (Rogers, Minn.) opened the scoring five minutes into the opening frame with an unassisted goal. Marian answered later in the period on Hailey Miller's goal to even the score at 1-1.
-In the second period, Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) scored to regain the lead for the Falcons. Marian then tied the game for a second time as Hannah Konair took advantage of a power play opportunity.
-The Falcons took the lead for good when Chapman scored her second of the game at 11:43 in the second period.
-The third period saw a trio of Falcons score. Emily Godwin (London, Ontario), Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska), and Sarah Tretina (Plainfield, Ill.) each had goals to help the Falcons close out the game at 6-2.
-Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) had 19 saves in goal to help the Falcons win their first conference game of the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-This was the 24th game between Concordia Wisconsin and Marian in Women's Hockey program history. The Falcons are 19-3-2 in the series. The first meeting between these teams was on November 11, 2007.

UP NEXT
-After playing six games on the road to open the season, the Falcons return to Mequon for their home opener against St. Norbert on Friday, November 16, at 7pm.
